The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) says it will not print a single ticket for the 2027 presidential election despite endorsing President Bola Tinubu as its sole candidate.

APC’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Mohammad Argungu, who disclosed this yesterday during a press parley at the APC national secretariat, said members of the party are free to purchase the presidential form to contest in the primary election.
His words: “It will be the wish of the party, and we, the NWC of the party, have already endorsed President Tinubu as the next presidential candidate of the party. And by extension, other organs have equally done the same thing.
“Governors in the states have done the same too. It has also been replicated in all six geographical zones of the country. But it does not mean that the door is closed.
“It also means that when the time comes, we will make our timetable known so that for anybody who wants to aspire for the president of this country, either in the platform of the APC, will not be denied the opportunity to purchase the nomination forms”.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, (LASIEC), has denied reports that it owed ad-hoc staff who conducted the Saturday, 12th July 2025 council election in the state.
In recent days, reports are circulating in the media that LASIEC is yet to pay the ad-hoc staff allowances one month after the election was held.
One of the ad-hoc staff who worked as Presiding Officer in Kosofe area, Segun Komolafe, told newsmen that LASIEC had not paid him one month after the poll. Komolafe said that LASIEC kept telling them to be patient, adding that they were running out of patience after one month of waiting in vain for the Commission.
However, in a statement to newsmen yesterday, the commission refuted the claim, noting that contrary to the publication, all duly verified ad-hoc staff have been paid in accordance with the established schedule, with payments completed within the last two weeks.
The statement pointed that only few outstanding cases exist due to incomplete or incorrect bank details, stressing that respective electoral officers of the affected individuals have been advised to liaise with the concerned ad-hoc staff, to regularise their account information.
