’Why Osinbajo is competent to succeed Buhari’ Senator
Former military Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, also known as IBB, has reiterated his stand that he will not support an old person for the 2023 presidency.

Recall that the former military ruler
IBB had, in an interview in August 2021 noted that he will not support anyone above sixty for the presidency.
Although he never mentioned anyones name, he dropped clear conditions that neither former vice-president Atiku, who is eyeing the position, nor the APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu, could meet. Atiku would be 77 in 2023, while Tinubu would have turned 70 years, which automatically rules them out according to Babangidas permutation.
However, IBB, in a recent interview yesterday, listed more conditions for any politician contesting for the 2023 presidency must meet to get his support. Aside from the age factor, IBB stressed that the countrys next president must be a very good communicator.
IBB noted that Nigerias President should be able to engage people on any issue concerning the country.
Meanwhile, a federal lawmaker, Senator Sola Adeyeye, yesterday, said Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is eminently qualified to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari because of his competence and experience acquired over the years.

Sen. Adeyeye stated this at the Meena Event Centre, Kano, when loyalists of the VP gathered to urge him to run.
According to him, “This moment of Nigerian history has itself chosen a man, and that man is Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“He is well-grounded and adequately prepared. A tested and trusted hand, with the right temperament, the intellectual firepower, and governance ethos best suited for this moment. Yemi Osinbajo is the man for the moment. Not for his own sake, but for the sake of our country, Nigeria”.
