Niger State Governor, Umar Bago, says arrangement are ongoing with the ?angote Group to establish a 500,000 metric tons rice mill between Wushishi and Bida LGAs in the State.

Bago spoke during a lecture to mark his one year anniversary as Governor, at Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi Conference Centre in Minna, the State capital.

In an issued statement by his chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the Governor said that arrangements were ongoing with Aliko ?angote, founder of ?angote Group for the construction of 500 of 40ft of empty storage facilities for farm produce of 500,000 metric tons of rice.

Bago said that democracy dividends are a right, and people should seek leaders rights, adding that his administration plans to achieve more across all sectors in its second year.

The Governor expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support, stressing that the Renewed Hope” agenda is a rebirth of new Niger.

Bago praised the cordial relationship between the executive and government, highlighting its significant contribution to success. He also lauded security agencies, traditional institutions, and religious leaders for addressing insecurity issues in the State.

Speaking further, Abubakar Usman, secretary to the State government, highlighted the challenges and successes of the administration, identifying numerous prospects for the ‘New Niger’ agenda.

The one-year anniversary lectures were delivered by the former Minister of Commerce, Mustafa Bello and former Vice-Chancellor of IBB University, Lapai, Nasiru Maiturare, who both called on the Governor to remain focused on his transformation agenda and to shun all forms of distractions from any quarters.
