President Bola Tinubu yesterday held a meeting behind a closed-door with the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Kwankwaso, a former Minister of Defence, has been a close ally of Tinubu, who has variously described the incumbent President as a strategist.
Recall that the immediate-past governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, served under Kwankwaso as deputy governor before succeeding him.
Both men later fell out over some political differences.
Kwankwasos NNPP in the last gubernatorial election defeated the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Kano State, solidifying Kwankwasos grip on the State and consolidating his political influence.
