Some unknown terrorists yesterday invaded a community, Lema, in Mando, opposite Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Zaria, Kaduna State, and abducted eight people, who included a pregnant woman and her sick mother.
A source in the area, Ali Hoto, said when the bandits invaded the area, they started sporadically shooting. He said the gunmen, suspected to be bandits, have been terrorising the people of the area.
Another resident, Musa Danladi, said they were all afraid to step out of their houses because of gunshots.
“They came around 1:am and took away eight residents, including a pregnant woman that came to visit her sick mother in the community. This is not the first time bandits would attack our community”, he said.
The residents called on the State government to come to their rescue.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige, did not respond to his call as of the time of filing this report.
