Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Constitution Review Committee, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has revealed that none of the 31 proposals for new states met the Constitutional requirements.  As a result, the submission deadline has been extended to March 5, 2025, for applicants to fulfill the necessary provisions. Senate denies proposing creation of 20 new States
