The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), has announced the date for the 2023 General Elections in Nigeria. The chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, made the announcement yesterday, during a one-day public hearing on the National Electoral Offences Commission (Establishment) Bill 2021, organised by the Senate Committee on INEC. Commences registration June 28 The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that the National Identification Number (NIN) is not mandatory for voter registration. Senate confirms Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu as INEC Chairman

The Senate yesterday confirmed the appointment of Professor Mahmoud Yakubu as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The confirmation was given during a plenary in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
