The National Union of Electricity Employees, (NUEE), has threatened a nationwide shutdown in response to allegations that armed police officers attacked employees of the Transmission Company of Nigeria at the Egbu 132/33 kV Transmission Sub-station in Imo State.  The union, in reaction to what it described as a “brutal invasion”, has already directed its members to halt power supply operations in Imo State until further notice. Fuel Subsidy Removal: Nigeria electricity workers to embark on nationwide strike

The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) yesterday directed its members to withdraw their services nationwide over the sudden removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government. The NUEE, in a notice signed by its acting General Secretary, Dominic Igwebike, urged its members to comply with the directive and stop work from the early hours of Wednesday.
