‘Nigeria ranked 115th in 2025 Global Hunger Index’ – Report

Nigeria’s hunger crisis is worsening and the country’s ranking has plunged to 115th out 123 countries globally, data from the ‘2025 Global Hunger Index (GHI)’ shows. From a position of 110th and a ‘serious food crisis’ point of 28.8 amongst 123 countries in 2024, Nigeria plunged deeper into the serious food crisis zone a year later. Adherence to Rule of Law index: Nigeria ranked 120th out of 142 countries

Nigeria is now ranked 120th of 142 countries in terms of adherence to rule of law, according to the latest global Rule of Law Index, as released by the World Justice Project (WJP). The 2023 index, released on Wednesday, in Washington DC, USA, showed that out of the 34 countries ranked in the sub-Saharan region, Nigeria is rated 23rd. Nigeria ranks 109 amid 168% tariff hike in eight years – Findings

Despite a near-zero improvement in power supply efficiency under the President Buhari administration, and contrary to the boast by the Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, that Nigeria enjoys the cheapest electricity, findings have shown that over 100 countries offer more affordable electricity compared to Nigeria. Nigeria has been ranked 103 out of 121 countries in the 2022 Global Hunger Index, (GHI), a position that signifies the nation “has a level of hunger that is serious”. Crude Oil theft: Nigeria drops to Africa’s fourth largest oil producer

…Angola leads  Nigeria is facing a record reduction in oil production, oil cartel OPEC reports, dropping from the first largest producer in Africa to the fourth, behind Angola, Algeria and Libya.
