Managing Director of Arewa Cotton and Allied Products Ltd., Anibe Achimugu, has revealed that Nigeria imports an estimated $4 billion worth of cotton, textiles and garments annually, warning that the trend is crippling local production and threatening jobs across the value-chain. The National Union of Textile Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria (NUTGTWN) says textile industry remained critical in addressing the nations current unemployment challenge.
