A report by the Office of the Auditor General for the Federation (OAuGF) has exposed significant financial infractions of up to ₦75.5 billion in the revenue and economic sector, particularly the Federal Inland Service, (FIRS). The annual report was to check non-compliance and internal control weaknesses in federal ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in 2021. Katsina: Audit uncovers alleged N511m fraud by ex-Finance Director

The 2023 Katsina State audit report has revealed alleged financial misconduct by a former director of finance at the Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission, Aliyu Abubakar. Abubakar reportedly withdrew N511.8 million in cash without corresponding value and transferred N34.4 million without a trace. The case is pending with the State’s attorney general.
