Sokoto bans local security vigilante group

In the wake of the upsurge of violence occasioned by the activities of yet-to-be identified gunmen in the eastern part of the State, the Sokoto State government has banned the local self-appointed security outfits known as ‘Yan-Sakai from operating as protectors of vulnerable communities. Sokoto: Tambuwal signs Hisbah Commission law

The Sokoto State Hisbah Commission Bill has been signed into law by the State governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
