It was an atmosphere of celebration as hundreds of well-wishers trooped to the palace of the Emir of Zazzau on Wednesday to register their support for the new and 19th Emir, Ahmed Bamali. In the crowd were many traditional title holders who had also rushed to the palace to pay obeisance to the new emir. Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru El-Rufa, has e appointed Ahmed Bamali as the new emir of Zazzau This was announced in a press statement by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Ja’afaru Sani, on Wednesday. The long awaited appointment comes 17 days since the stool became vacant with the demise of Shehu Idris, who died on Sunday, September 20, 2020, after reigning for 45 years.
