As the 2023 Hajj exercise peaks and gradually winds down, Nigerian pilgrims have been admonished to see any inconvenience encountered in the course of the rituals as an act of worship.

The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON, Zikrullah Kunle Hassan gave the advise while speaking with Liberty News in Muna, Saudi Arabia.

The 2023 Hajj peaks with the movement of pilgrims from Makkah to Mina, to Arafat, Musdalifah and to Jamrat for the symbolic stoning.

Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan while asserting that no Hajj exercise without hitches, said all inconveniences observed by the pilgrims should be seen as path of ibadah.

While promising that the commission would always do its best for the comfort of pilgrims, he said Hajj is a master leveler where you can’t differentiate between the rich and the poor, the master and slave.

Earlier, in Arafat, there was National prayers for Nigeria, its leaders and the citizens.

The prayers were held in Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Fulfude, Kanuri and Arabic by different Islamic scholars from across the nation.

The pilgrims also besieged the Mount Arafat where they supplicate to the Almighty.

The following day, all roads led to Jamrat for the symbolic stoning and further supplications.

From Jamrat, the pilgrims moved about 7 kilometers to Makkah grand Mosque where they performed Tawaf (circumbulation of the Ka’aba) and Sa’ai (Ssafari and Marwa).

The day was rounded up with barbing of the hair, baths and changing from the two pieces white loin clothing to conventional outfits  and return back to Mina before sunset.
