#EndBadGovernance protesters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State yesterday, recited the now-defunct ‘Arise O compatriots’ national anthem, ditching the reintroduced ‘Nigeria We Hail Thee’.

Recall that the Federal Government had reintroduced the latter anthem a few months ago.

During the #EndBadGovernance protests in Port Harcourt, an amateur video captured the demonstrators standing in solidarity singing the ‘Arise O Compatriots’, demanding better governance from President Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu officially reinstated the original national anthem: ‘Nigeria, We Hail Thee’, on May 29, 2024.

Yesterday, Nigerians across the country took to the streets to express their anger as hunger worsened amid prohibitive food prices.
