…Stakeholders vow to petition EFCC, ICPC on her alleged gross violations of Procurement Act, money laundering
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday confirmed the appointment of Mohammad Bello-Koko as the substantive Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, (NPA).

According to an issued press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja by the Ministry of Transportation and signed by its Director, Press and Public Relations, Eric Ojiekwe, the appointment takes immediate effect.
Prior to his appointment, Koko was the Executive Director, Finance & Administration of NPA”, the statement read in part.
Recall that Koko has been the Acting Managing Director of the NPA since the last managing director, Hadiza Bala-Usman, was suspended in 2021.
Meanwhile, there was wild jubilation in the Nigerian Ports on the news of the confirmation of Bello Koko, which automatically translated to the sack of the erstwhile MD, Ms. Usman.
The Port Workers, as stakeholders vow to write petitions to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), ICPC, Interpol on her alleged gross violation of the Procurement Act of 2007, billions of Naira contract-splitting of Environment Pollution Seaweeds, Ghost contracts in Ports, money laundering, etc, as contained in the outcome of the probe into the various infractions by the sacked Managing Director.
Recall that the investigative panel which probed her stewardship at NPA found Ms. Usman guilty of alleged gross violation of the public procurement laws of Nigeria.
