Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar NaAbba, has disclosed that the North does not welcome the idea of zoning the presidency to the South in 2023 because of President Muhammadu Buharis performance.
Na Abba also attributed his perceived rejection of zoning in the north to the presidents leadership style, adding that many northerners view the Presidents term in office as ‘a wasted opportunity’.
The ex-Speaker further said the president is running the country in a manner that suggests that hes opinionated, insisting that the North is not satisfied with his performance in the past six years.
According to the former lawmaker, “Many northerners do not support the idea of zoning the presidency to another region because they believe Buharis tenure is a waste”.
NaAbba said for the country to be better, it must focus on building strong institutions and not strong personalities.
