Says people behind attacks have willingly confessed
Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma, has asked the residents of the State to dispel the speculation that hoodlums want to attack the State again.

Uzodimma spoke after a Church Service at the Government House Chaplaincy in Owerri, the State capital.
The governor, who described as a false alarm the rumour that some bandits want to attacks institutions and Government facilities, assured that the security agents have the capacity to safeguard the State.
He further stated that some persons have confessed to being behind the recent attacks on government facilities in the state.
Recall that there have been series of attacks on security and public facilities in the state including the police headquarters and correctional centre in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
Speaking at a meeting with Samuel Uche, prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria (MCN), on Saturday, the governor said those who confessed will soon be revealed to the public.
In a statement issued after the meeting, he also urged the church to partner with the government to bring an end to insecurity in the State.
We are determined to play decent politics as the activities of the past weeks, which are products of bad or indecent politics anchored on acrimony and violence, are regrettable”.
Sadly, most of the killings, destructions in the state were politically motivated but we thank God that most of those incriminated have willingly confessed and as soon as the investigations are concluded, the culprits will be made public and those behind the incident of killing innocent people, destroying private and public properties must be made to face the full weight of the law, Uzodimma said.
