Says peace will return to South-East
’His arrest will not affect Biafra agitation, referendum still needed’ – CNG
Sunday Igboho to dump Lagos rally
The Igbo socio-cultural association, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, says the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), will avert another civil war and bring peace to the South-East.

The group called for calm and cautioned the Igbo to desist from any form of protests and processions that will bring more catastrophe to the South-East.
Recall that Kanu, after being on the run, was on Sunday extradited to Nigeria to face trial.
He was arraigned before a Federal High Court judge, Binta Nyako, who ruled that he should be remanded in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) till July, 26.
Commenting on his re-arrest, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo said the development will bring violent agitations in the South-East to an end.

In a statement issued by its Secretary-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the group said Kanus refusal to listen to Igbo leaders advice led him to his present predicament.
However, the group advised the Federal Government to handle the IPOB leaders case carefully in order to prevent violent revolts from his followers.
With the IPOB leaders arrest, sources have hinted that the self-styled Yoruba nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, may stay away from the planned Yoruba Nation mega rally scheduled for Saturday.
The sources hinted that the Yoruba activist is at the moment having a strategy meeting with his lieutenants on what strategy to adopt for the much-publicised rally.
