Telecommunication companies in the country have been directed by the Nigerian Communications Commission, (NCC), to suspend the sales and reactivation of new SIM cards.
This was contained in a letter written by the Commission and forwarded to telecommunication companies on Monday, December 7.
The NCC said it is going embarking on an audit of the subscriber registration database.
