The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced on Friday in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare. The statement said the decision was made “in furtherance of the federal government’s efforts to strengthen the national security architecture”.

President Tinubu expressed appreciation to the outgoing Service Chiefs—especially General Musa—for their “patriotic service and dedicated leadership” during their tenure.

He urged the newly appointed military chiefs to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating renewed professionalism, vigilance, and unity in safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty and stability.

“All appointments take immediate effect,” the statement concluded.
