This is just as the governor has concluded arrangements with the Chinese Government to sign a final agreement on a pioneering Model Integrated Poultry Development Project expected to create 350,000 direct and indirect jobs and generate over $450 million annually.

According to the Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaƙi, the deal followed extensive engagements with the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Yu Dunhai, and demonstrates “Kaduna State’s commitment to strategic partnerships that deliver transformative economic growth.”

The $200 million initiative – endorsed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and supported by the Nigeria–China Strategic Partnership – aims to: Strengthen food security; Drive agro-industrialisation; Boost exports, and position Kaduna as a continental leader in modern agri-business.

Governor Sani is also scheduled to hold further talks with China Communications Construction Company and other partners to consolidate investment commitments and deepen technical collaboration.

In a separate development, Governor Uba Sani was honoured with the ‘NTA Best Performing Governor Award’ for 2025, recognising his strides in stabilising Kaduna, strengthening security and deepening inclusive governance.

The award ceremony, attended by top political leaders and stakeholders, celebrated the governor’s achievements in: Peace-building and security partnerships; Investor confidence and economic recovery; Infrastructure renewal and capital projects, Education, healthcare and social welfare reforms, and Youth, women and minority inclusion in governance

Officials described him as a “pillar of stability” whose leadership has repositioned Kaduna as a national model for responsive and people-centred governance.

Receiving the award on behalf of the governor, Commissioner Maiyaƙi dedicated the honour to the people of Kaduna State, pledging that the administration will sustain reforms and expand development across all 23 LGAs.
