Governor Uba Sani, of Kaduna State, has clinched the ‘2025 Good Governance Award’ (Peace Building and Development), presented by the National Headquarters of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) during its Press Freedom and Good Governance Awards 2025, which was held at Barcelona Hotel, Abuja.

The NUJ lauded the governor’s bold strides in restoring peace to Kaduna, once a hotbed of ethnic and religious conflict, crediting him with turning the state into a model of harmony and security. “He inherited a state in turmoil but swiftly rebuilt trust, unity and stability,” the NUJ noted in its citation.
Beyond peace-building, the media body hailed Governor Sani for his sweeping infrastructure drive and human capital investments. It said that from road construction and school renovations to healthcare upgrades and housing projects, his administration has redefined purposeful governance.
The union also spotlighted the Uba Sani Foundation, which has built a reputation for voluntarily empowering youths, women, and the underprivileged with entrepreneurial and vocational skills – a reflection of his grassroots commitment.
The media body, which described the governor as an accomplished lawmaker and entrepreneur, praised him for his coalition-building skills, public policy acumen, and inclusive governance style.
“Uba Sani leads not with ethnic bias or religious sentiment, but with empathy and vision”, the NUJ affirmed.
Veteran journalists noted that this award cements his rising national profile as a reformer with results and a peace-builder with purpose.
