The Katsina Emirate Council has said it would not hold the usual Sallah Durbar during the forthcoming Eid el-Fitr to mourn victims of the recent bandit attack in some communities in the State.

The Emirates Information Officer, Ibrahim Bindawa, disclosed this in a statement yesterday in Katsina, the State capital.
The Emirate, in the statement, said it has suspended all celebrations for the upcoming Eid el-Fitr, a.k.a Sallah, to commiserate with victims of bandits attack in some communities and other insecurity in the State and the nation at large.
The decision of the Emirate was made known to the press in an issued statement and signed by the Danejin Daura, Alh. AbdulMumini Salihu on behalf of the secretary of the council.
The statement further said that special prayers will be offered for sustainable peace in the State immediately after the Eid prayers on Sallah day.
Recall that bandits had attacked communities including Batsari, Danmusa and Kankara killing many people.
