…Declares APC winner of Kwara state governorship election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde winner of the governorship election in the State.

With this win, Makinde will be the second governor to serve for two terms in the State.
The first governor to serve for two terms was late Abiola Ajimobi, who governed the state between 2011 and 2019.
Recall that the gubernatorial election was held in all 33 local government areas of the state on Saturday.
There were three major candidates in the election. They included Makinde, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Adebayo Adelabu of Accord.
The election results also show that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin won in only twolocal government areas.
Also, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been declared winner of the 2023 governorship election in Kwara state.
According to INEC, the governor won the poll to serve a second term of another four years in office under the platform. He won in all the 16 local government areas of the State in the election results declared by the INEC Returning officer for the polls, Professor Isaac Itodo.
