The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has spoken on the barring of Muslim students wearing hijab from writing the mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) at Covenant University, Ogun State.

Recall that on Sunday, some Muslim candidates for the mock test were reportedly denied entry for some time at Covenant University in Canaanland for wearing the hijab.
Canaanland is a private city in Ota, Ogun State, that hosts the headquarters of Winners’ Chapel (Living Faith Church), Covenant University and Faith Academy, all founded by Bishop David Oyedepo.
In a now-viral video, someone narrated how some Muslim candidates were denied entry into the venue of the mock examination organised annually by JAMB in many centres across the country.
However, JAMB, in an issued statement said that Covenant University claimed that no such instruction was given and offered apologies to the concerned candidates.
