Hajj; Nigerian Pilgrims to have access to 7 Clinics in Makkah

Nigerian pilgrims are to enjoy the services of 7 medical clinics in Makkah Saudi Arabia as they converge on the holy city for the 2023 hajj exercise.

The Head of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON Medical Team, Dr. Usman Galadima disclosed this in a chat with a member the National Media Team in Makkah.

According to him, already three of the clinics are fully established and functional, while the remaining four will take off as the number of Nigerian pilgrims increased in the holy city, and the clinics would be established in areas with large concentration of Nigerian pilgrims.

Dr. Galadima said so far, no fewer than three hundred patients weree been attended to on daily basis at the three clinics, asserting that the number may increase as Makkah is the final destination of all pilgrims for the Hajj exercise.

Common illnesses like malaria, respiratory related complications, cough, cold and similar ones, he said were treated as outpatient cases; while serious ones are given extra care such as admissions and referrals in a more serious cases.

Dr. Galadima reiterated his earlier advice to pilgrims to religiously guard their health through good eating; drinking habits and maintain a clean environment to guard against outbreak of any disease.

He cautioned the pilgrims against unnecessary loitering as the Saudi weather is already harsh; stressing that staying indoors and drinking lot of water was a good protection against dehydration and ultimate sun and, or heat strokes.
