A Civil Society Group, Good Governance Initiative, has described as ‘very wicked’ and ‘satanic’ the news flying around stating that the Department of State Services (DSS) found the sum of N407billion in three accounts belonging to the Sarkin Hausawa of Lagos and the Chairman of the Arewa Council of Chiefs, Aminu Yaro, and another spurious lies that the sum of N100billion was found in the wife’s account.

Recall that according to reports, the Sarkin Hausawa has been held by the DSS incommunicado for the last few days following what initially was a routine invitation in connection with the on-going investigation of the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) Godwin Emefiele, which he dutifully honoured.
In an issued press statement yesterday by the Convener, Good Governance Initiative, Muyiwa Adeoti, said, “Our attention has been brought to a very wicked and satanic news flying around stating that the DSS found the sum of N407billion in three accounts belonging to Alhaji Aminu Yaro (the Sarkin Hausawa of Lagos and the Chairman of the Arewa Council of Chiefs), and another spurious lies that the sum of N100billion was found in the wife’s account.
According to Adeoti, “The author of this fake news went ahead to state that his wife works with Zenith Bank Plc, giving an indication that the wife was in charge of these funds.
“To start with, his wife does not work with Zenith Bank; neither is such a humongous amount in his account, or that of his wife. These are lies from the pit of hell, and an attempt to divert the attention of the public away from his unlawful incarceration for over eight days without doing anything other than being the friend of Godwin Emefiele.
“Alhaji Aminu Yaro is a successful man in his own right and he has been very successful long before Godwin Emefiele became the CBN governor, therefore, it is satanic for any right-thinking person to ascribe his wealth to Godwin Emefiele”, the Civil Society Group stated.
