…Says the only thing keeping Nigeria together is crude oil
Some panel members of LibertyTV flagship current affairs programme: ‘Democracy in Practice‘, has lamented the Governments under this dispensation is addicted at all levels bloating the cost of governance and leading to colossal waste of resources that should channelled for development.
According to a member of the panel, Dr. Fapohunda, the only thing that is keeping Nigeria together is crude oil. Also, a member of the LibertyTV panel, Hon. Balarabe Kakaleon, said the North is now not afraid of restructuring.
Recall that Dr. Fapohunda, is
the Drafter and Promoter of a Private Bill to the National Assembly, proposing that Nigeria must replace the current system before the next election in 2027, but only through the ‘Doctrine of Necessity’, against the background of flaws of the present federal presidential system, which many citizens say is too expensive, and has failed in delivering on the basic aspiration of Nigerians.
He also urged that the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), be dissolved and in its place, the regions should conduct the next elections based on a new Regional Constitution in the draft Bill he is proposing.
