The Coalition for the Defence of Nigeria’s Democracy (CDND) has called for the arrest of former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over comments it described as inciting violence and threatening national stability.

Speaking at an event in Abuja, Amaechi reportedly urged Nigerians to “take their fate into their own hands” to stop President Tinubu in 2027, adding that “no revolution succeeds without blood”.
CDND’s president, Dr. Rufus Obadiah, likened Amaechi’s remarks to the separatist rhetoric of Nnamdi Kanu, accusing him of stoking insurrection as a political strategy.
The group criticised Amaechi’s record in office, describing his 16 years in public service as wasteful and warned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to reject “extremist populism.”
It urged the DSS, Police, and Attorney-General to investigate and prosecute Amaechi to deter violent political speech, insisting that democratic change must come through civic pressure, not bloodshed.
