Covid-19: Nigerians who flouted testing upon return’ll forfeit Int’l Passport – FG

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF) and Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, Boss Mustapha, has threatened to mete out sanctions on Nigerians from Diaspora who came into the country but failed to present themselves for mandatory PCR testing, including the forfeiture of their international passports.

The SGF, gave the threat yesterday, at the weekly briefing session in Abuja, insisting that complacency has set in because the virus was having less toll in Nigeria. He said 65 percent of Nigerians who returned back to the country in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic have failed to undergo the mandatory testing, even after paying the necessary fees.

While acknowledging the invaluable roles played by traditional rulers in containing the spread of the virus, he made allusions to the #EndSARS protesters, whom he noted never adhered to the covid-19 protocols.

According to Mustapha, a number of countries in Europe have been forced to order their second lockdown due to spike in cases and warned that global cases crossed the 46 million mark with USA, India and Brazil accounting for 50% of all global cumulative burden.
