Consensus agenda: APC ties National Convention on reconciliation of stakeholders

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, (CECPC),MaiMala Buni, has tied the partys impending National Convention on how successful the Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led APC National Reconciliation Committee delivers on its assignment.

Governor Buni, among other tasks, urged the panel to resolve all differences and cement all cracks emanating from the concluded ward and local government congresses of the party.

Inaugurating the 9-member Panel, at the partys National Secretariat yesterday, in Abuja, the Yobe State governor said the work of the committee is important and crucial for the unity of the party going into the National Convention.

The APC has been embroiled in statewide crises as stakeholders challenge the outcome of the Ward and LGA Congresses, as many lament the imposition of predetermined candidates in the name of consensus candidates.

Some stakeholders have also approached the courts in utter disregard of the directive of the APC National Executive Committee.

According to Buni, the committed report of resolution of discrepancies would indicate our readiness as a united and strong family for the national convention. Your assignment, therefore, has great impact and influence on the convention.

He charged members of the panel to work as a team and ensure that the interest of the party supersedes personal and selfish interests for the party to remain strong, united and Nigerias leading political party.

He commended party faithful who showed loyalty to the party and heeded the call to withdraw all litigations from the law courts.

Senator Abdullahi, in his response, expressed confidence in the committees readiness to work for the party.

He declared their readiness to consult leaders of the party including Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Akande and past Chairmen of the APC in the course of their assignment.

Other members of the committee include Otunba Moses Alake Adeyemo (Secretary), Sen. George Akume, Sullivan Chime, Ali Sa’ad Birnin-Kudu,Yakubu Dogara, Alh. Suleiman Argungu, Dr. Mrs. Oluranti I. Adebule.
