Anti-open grazing: “el-Rufa’i’s attack on Southern govs devious” ? Akeredolu

Says it’s a hysteric ploy to externalise banditry

The Chairman of the South West Governors Forum, Rotimi Akeredolu, has lambasted the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufa’i, on his position that the anti-open grazing law promulgated by some southern governors is not implementable.

Akeredolu described el-Rufai’s attack on Southern governors as devious and a hysteric ploy to externalise banditry, saying the statement credited to Kaduna State governor showed that el-Rufa’i belongs to a class of an unenviable ilk masquerading as leaders.

Akeredolu, in a statement signed by his Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, said there is no wisdom in condemning the ban on open grazing, saying those who have nothing evil to perpetrate have nothing to fear as regards the law.

The governor, however, maintained that the anti-grazing law has come to stay in the state and shall be zealously guarded and conscionably deployed to protect all residents of the State.

He, however, said if indeed the Kaduna State governor made such statement as reported, he said el-Rufa’i is only seeking to encourage anarchy under the guise of resentment of law by affected stakeholders.
