Abuja Indigenous Group commends Tinubu for ending 53-year agitation for Ministerial slot

The Abuja Original Inhabitants Youth Empowerment Organisation, (AOIYEO), has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for nominating one of its own, Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo, for ministerial appointment.

The President of the Association, Commandant Isaac David, in an issued statement, described the Presidents action as novel, remarkable but also symbolic.

The leader of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) indigenous group said this was the first time the group would be enjoying such a privilege stressing that it would not take it for granted.

He, therefore, thanked President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration.

Going down memory lane, Commandant David said, Since 1976, this is the first time that Abujas original inhabitants will have this great opportunity to be part of the government.

Tinubu actually proves that he is the best for this country; because, he happened to be the only and first president in the history of this country to have listened to our yearnings since 1976, when our people have been running from pillar to post against persecution, marginalisation and right infringement. He has given us a rare sense of belonging; he had made a bold step to renew our hope in the unity and progress of the country.

The people of FCT will forever remain grateful because President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shown us that we are not second-class citizens on our land by promptly restoring our political rights which has invariably given us hope that with him as president, the indigenes have begun a journey to be free from age-long bondage of marginalisation.

Isaac therefore called for unflinching support from all the inhabitants, home and abroad, for the success of this government.

Meanwhile, he was quick to appeal to Senators from northern extraction to stand in support of the nominee to be able to scale through the hurdles of screening, knowing the fact that FCT has only one Senator, so it is equally important to call our Senators from the north to stand in support of our man.

The Abuja youth leader also assured the residents of the city not to entertain any fear about this development, adding that nomination of one of us is going to be a blessing to all.
