The newly recruited secondary teachers by Kaduna state government are set to stage a peaceful protest on Monday 12th December 2022.

According to them, the protest is as a result of the seven months salaries they are owed by the state government under Governor Nasiru el-Rufa’i.
Recall that the teachers were handed letters of offer of provisional appointments on 19th July, 2021. According to them, they had to wait until 17th May, 2022 before they were deployed.
Since their deployment, the government has allegedly not paid them their salaries despite the high cost of living the country is currently facing, they said.
They are therefore calling on all the teachers concerned to converge at the State secretariat, ministry of education on Monday 12th December, 2022 to demand justice for their unpaid seven months salaries.
Over four thousand newly recruited teachers are expected to take part in the protest, they said.
